There are many different types of barcode scanner to choose from. The first decision is whether to choose a 1D or 2D scanner. The 2D is variety is more versatile and read a wider range of barcodes. However, 1D scanners continue to be the most widely used.
Another decision to make is whether to choose a laser or LED scanner. LED is a more modern development but laser scanners remain the most popular choice.
